IT'S TIME TO BE TOGETHER AGAIN FOR WORSHIP!
Although the pandemic continues and caution is needed when it comes to being with others, we have come up with a plan for the fall to allow many of us to be together again for worship. There are 4 options to choose from.
1) Live Worship Services at Landmark Cinemas Country Hills
We have scheduled three in-person worship services this fall at Landmark Cinemas. They will be held on October 18th, November 15th and December 13th. Our December 13th service will be a Christmas Celebration Service. All three of these services will be live and will have protocol in place to ensure the safety of everyone attending. There is no need to pre-register but you will be required to fill out a brief form before entering the worship theater as we must have a record of everyone in attendance as well as ensure that everybody attending is healthy. Masks will be required during these services as per City of Calgary by-law and everyone is encouraged to try and keep a distance of 2 meters from one another. There will be ample room in our Worship Theater (#16) for everyone in attendance to spread out (2 empty seats between households) and the theater has also installed plastic dividers between seats to add to safety measures. Everything will be thoroughly sanitized prior to our service including the chairs and there will be hand sanitizer and extra masks made available. During the sermon our kids will be dismissed to the theater next door (#15) in order to participate in their physically distanced class. For those unable to join us in-person we plan to broadcast our service live on our Facebook Page.
2) Online Worship Gatherings at Vivo
On the Sundays that we are not meeting altogether at Landmark Cinemas we will be continuing our Online Worship Services, which will premiere on YouTube at 10am, but we are adding a new option for these services. We have booked a large room at Vivo in order to have a safe environment for up to 20 people to gather and participate in our pre-recorded online services together. You must register to attend these worship gatherings in order to ensure there is enough space for us to be spread out each week. Seats will be spread out to allow households to worship a safe distance from one another. Masks will be required for these gatherings and we will do our best to remain 2 meters apart as we visit. Hand sanitizer and extra masks will be made available to everyone attending. We won't have a separate space for kids but we will have a kids video lesson available that they can watch during the sermon if parents are able to have a device (phone or tablet) with headphones available for them. Registration for each Sunday will be available beginning Tuesday morning each week. If there is no space left when you register then you can sign up for waiting list and we will let you know if a space opens up. If a spot doesn't open up you will be first in line to attend next Sunday's Vivo Worship Gathering.
3) Online Worship Gatherings in Homes
As mentioned, our Online Worship Services will continue through the fall other than the 3 Sundays we are meeting at Landmark Cinemas. For these online services we have provided the option of joining a Worship Cohort where you can gather in someone's home each Sunday morning with the same small group of people in order to participate in our online worship service with them. Masks are not required but keeping a safe distance from one another is encouraged. Email our office for more details on how to join an In-Home Worship Cohort.
4) Online Worship On Your Own
We understand that not everyone is in a position, health wise, where they are able to risk being with others quite yet. For this reason we will continue to have an online option available each Sunday for those who are unable to attend any of our above worship gatherings. We also have online small groups and Bible studies available for those unable to be with others to be encouraged by.
5) Small Group Opportunities
Beyond Sunday morning, we want to encourage everyone to be part of one of our small group gatherings which are aimed to take you deeper in faith and deeper in relationship with other Christians. We currently have 4 options for these gatherings. We have one regular Connection Group meeting throughout the fall via Zoom. We have two Bible Studies that are starting around mid-October. One will be a Men's Bible Study group and the other will be a Ladies Bible Study Group. The fourth option is a virtual gathering each Saturday morning with the President of Alberta Bible College. He is leading an in-depth lecture and study on scripture each Saturday morning via Zoom and we have been given the opportunity to join in.
